  • Main ingredients, their purpose and production techniques in making sake
  • Categories, grades and specialty styles of sake
  • Japanese labelling terms for types of sake
  • Sake service and tasting techniques
  • The WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Sake® (SAT) and how to use to describe a style
  • Basic principles behind pairing food and wine

Course format

  • 6 hours of classroom learning that includes a 45 minute exam of 30 multiple choice questions
